Very Special Food!!!

Wahooooooooooooooo!!

I got some very special breakfast this morning.

Usually I just have boring old puppy food.

Which is ok.

I guess.

As puppy food goes.

(Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwn)

But today! Wow! Nanny had forgotten to make Bran a birthday cake (norty Nanny!) actually on his birthday so she made it for our breakfast today.

I told you that Bran was a very special brother, didn't I? He shared his delicious cake with me and Flora  :o)

Just look at his amazing cake!

And here is me getting stuck in!

Mummy Sophie laughed at me because I had crumbs all over my nose  ;o)

Of course, Bran got to eat lots more than me because it *was* his birthday.

Nanny has been busy today posting all of the dogs who are still at Lizzie's Barn looking for homes all over the special sites that might be able to help them to find their forever homes:

All of the terriers are on a brill forum called Terrier Talk  (Nanny says they are very lovely on that site because they all love me and they have given her lots and lots of helpful advice about very naughty jack russells. I can't imagine who she means!);

All of the hounds are on 2 brill forums called Sighthounds Online and Sighthound Welfare Trust  (One day, when I am properly grown up, I think I might have long legs like them);

Beautiful Cleo (who is an older labrador cross) is on Labrador Forums (where Nanny speaks to lots of nice people about naughty brown labrador boys!);

Jasper - the most handsome collie that I have ever seen - is on AgilityNet  because Nanny and Auntie Fi think that he will be brill at jumping things and chasing balls!

Nanny has also been very very clever and added a very special button at the side of my writings (<--------- over there) where people can click and send some money to Auntie Fi to help pay for my vet bills or to help pay for all of the other vet bills or just for some food or even just some washing powder (us Barn dogs generate a lot of washing you know!!). It looks just like the one down here \/  which also works  ;o)

She's also been speaking to Auntie Fi about doing some very special fundraising so watch out for exciting things happening soon!

A Very Special New Trick!

Today I found a new use for my big brother!

I learned how to jump up on the sofa as soon as I came to live here  :o)

The armchair is a bit higher and it took me a while, but I have now learned to jump up on to it  :oD

The only obstacle in my way was getting up on to the lap of anybody sitting in Nanny's computer chair  :o(

Today I had a revelation. I needed to not jump it one go, but to find something that I could use as a step.

I had to have a few goes before getting it to work, so I needed a rest at one point.

But eventually............. Success....................!!

The other thing special about today is that Bran is having something called a "birthday". He is 1 year old today and very kindly shared his presents with me  :o)

Flora (who has had "birthdays" before) tells us that there will be lots of yummy food later! I can't wait!!

My Very Special Big Brother

My big sister Flora spent some time playing today while me and Bran were kept out of her way. Nanny said that it was because we would have got her too excited and she's not allowed to bounce too much because of her baddy leg.

She spent lots of time watching me in my crate which was weird coz that's normally what I do to her. And then she started wuffing and playbowing at me and that was even weirder because that's what I do to her as well!!

Because she had been playing with the toys, Bran was not very happy and he got up on to the sofa to sulk away from me. Nanny came in to take some photos of him and he pulled his grumpiest face at her!

It made me laugh though and I decided that if I could get him to play with me then he would feel lots better.

It didn't really work though. He can be *such* a grumpy so and so!

He was a very lucky boy because Nanny took him out in the car today. When they came back he said that they'd been to this really cool shop that smelled like food and toys. I did stick my tongue out at him because I went to that shop just the other day. So ner!

Nanny took some more photos of us later on because she kept laughing at how both me and Bran like sleeping on the same bed - sometimes together. It's a very special bed and it used to belong to Sophie's Nanny's very special dog called Jessie. Jessie lives at Rainbow Bridge now with Bear and Jazz, but she left us her bed. It is a very comfy bed and it lives next to Nanny's computer desk. Anyway, she says that none of us fit it properly!

After we had had our tea and a snooze, I managed to get Bran to play with me properly for the first time alllllllllllll day. We had lots of fun!!

My big brother is very special and I love him lots! xxxx

Sunday 10th May: Very Special Memories

Nanny has been busybusybusy today but every now and again I watch her stop and have a little cry. It makes me sad that she is crying so I give her lots of kisses to make her smile.

I asked Sophie why Nanny was sad and she told me that one whole year ago (when I wasn't even born!) their very handsome collie called Bear went to live at the Rainbow Bridge where Jazz went the other day. It meant that they couldn't see him any more and that Nanny misses him very much. She said that she misses him too and Jacob does, but that he was very special to Nanny. She showed me some photos of Bear and I think that he looks like he would have been a lot of fun to play with.

Sophie also said that Auntie Fi thinks that I have been sent to them as a special gift from Bear to collect as many cuddles as possible to take back to him at Rainbow Bridge. She cried when she told me this and so I gave her lots of kisses too and made her smile by biting her fingers.

Flora was also sad because she says that Bear was her very special big brother, just like Bran is my very special big brother, and that she misses him lots even though she has me and Bran to keep her company. I can see why she is so sad because I would miss my big brother very much if he went to live somewhere else and I could never see him again  :o(

Bran tells me that it is up to us to make everybody smile today and to lick away all of the tears. That's a job that I can do very well  :o)

Saturday 9th May: A Very Special Fan Club!

Foster Nanny disclaimer: I forgot to take my proper camera and so most of the photos are mobile phone camera quality - sorry! Some of the other photos are borrowed from the web  :o)

What a very exciting day I had today!!!

First of all, we went in the car and I love riding in the car. And then the car stopped and I got put into my special backpack (I say "back"pack but it has to be carried on the front of whoever is carrying me because I keep trying to jump out if I see another dog even though my harness is clipped on to the pack). This time my Nanny was carrying me. Then we got on to a great big red thing that was like a car but not a car and it was huge and lots of other people got on with us. A very nice lady talked to my Nanny all about me while she gave me lots of fusses and I decided that she could be the first member of Prince Hugo's Saturday Fan Club  :o)  I was very comfy in my padded carrier on Nanny's lap, but then the big red thing stopped and we got out.

And suddenly there were lots and lots of people everywhere!!!

The fountains in Bristol City Centre

I knew that we were there to listen to some music that Jacob's friends were going to be playing, but I didn't know that there were going to be so many people there!! My nanny asked a lady that she knew what was going on and she said that it was the ninth Unite Against Fascism march and now they were having a rally to raise awareness. Everybody was very excited and shouting, so I joined in and barked and barked and barked.

The stand for the Green Party

We listened to a man talking about the bad things that BNP do and then a very cool choir called the Red Notes did some singing.

While the man was talking and the ladies singing, lots and lots of people came to say hello to me. The police ladies came to talk to me and told me how cute I was and asked Nanny all about me, and then a police man came over as well and even he said that I was lovely. Lots of children asked to say hello to me and my Nanny had to nearly sit on the floor so that they could stroke my head  ;o)  Some very nice girls came to say hello to me and they took my photo on their phone cameras and said that they were going to tell all of their friends about me. A very lovely lady gave me kisses and told me how very special I was.

And then a very nice man made a fuss of me. He was meant to be talking to a lady about something important but he was sort of talking to her while he was making a big fuss of me. Then he said that he was sad because he wanted a dog but his wife wouldn't let him have one. I thought that was sad because he was a very nice man and he'd have been a good doggy daddy. Anyway, he went away but when he came back he had a very pretty lady with him who said "oh I want one!!" and the man punched the air and grinned at me. The very pretty lady was his wife and she stayed to talk to Nanny about me and rescue dogs and she thought that I was lovely so maybe the very nice man will get a dog after all! Imagine how surprised I was when the man jumped up onto the back of the lorry and started singing! He was the singer in the big band that were playing before Jacob's friends! His band was called First Degree Burns and they played some very cool music that Nanny said is called reggae. Everybody was dancing  :o)

The nice man and his band playing

Mummy Sophie had a yummy thing called an "ice lolly" and it smelled so yummy that I just had to taste it. Luckily, she loves me very much and let me share it with her.

After her ice lolly, she had an ice cream and that smelled even yummier so I decided to pinch a bite of that as well! She was a bit cross about that because I managed to have a bite even before her. I think she just needs to eat faster or share properly.

Silly Mummy Sophie

Lovely Mummy Sophie

Jacob's friends played then, but they only played 2 songs and their music was VERY loud and it hurt my ears.

Jacob watching his friends

The nice man's band played again after that but we decided to go for a walk and get back on the big red thing to go home.

As we were going to start walking again, I spotted a very naughty collie dog who was running around without his mummy or daddy and was not on his lead and he kept running into the road! He looked very familiar - he was white with a few black patches and was very handsome. Then I remembered that he looked just like Minnie-Moo's very handsome brother who is called Sno, but Sno is a good boy and this dog was very naughty! I was very cross with him being so naughty so I leaned right out of the backpack and shouted at him to go and find his mummy or daddy and get back on his lead. He did not take any notice of me so I shouted louder until people started laughing at me and then I shut up. Luckily, his daddy heard me shouting and went to fetch the naughty dog.

We walked right along the docks in the middle of Bristol and there were lots of boats and things called "ferries". Nanny promised that we could go for a ride on one some day. I don't know if I'll like it on a boat!

The bridge with horns that we walked past

Some ladies all dressed up in silly costumes stopped to make a fuss of me and tell me how cute I am. Nanny said that they were called chickens or something...

And then I had the shock of my life! I bumped into the world's biggest beetle!! It was GIANT!!! I was a bit worried and tried to run away before it could eat me!

I had a lovely little paddle in the fountains, but got a bit cold from being in the water so was very happy to go back into the backpack. I also had to stop to look at this giant mirror ball.

I had *such* an exciting day! Lots and lots of people joined the Hugo's Saturday Fan Club  ;o)  I'm so glad that I've got Mummy Sophie and Nanny and Jacob to look after me and take me on so many adventures!!
